Chinese Brush Painting Workshop

Join us for a Chinese art demonstration and hands-on workshop. Artist and instructor Pauline Tsui will share basic principles and brush techniques on how to render seasonal flowers, and discuss how each plant or flower has special meanings in American and Asian cultures in this hands-on workshop.

About The Event
Participants will learn to paint using watercolors and Chinese ink; all will complete a finished painting to take home.
Beginner to intermediate levels are welcome, all art supplies will be provided. Pre-registration is required and limited to 20.
Pauline Tsui is an artist, a writer, and a docent of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. She studied traditional Chinese brush painting with renowned masters in Hong Kong, and attended Mills College of Oakland, Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and Fashion Institute of Technology in New York to pursue degrees in design and western art. Pauline teaches Chinese painting and calligraphy classes at art museums, public libraries and community centers. Pauline's East-meets-West approach and methodical teaching style appeal to a broad audience across the country.
